I feel immense sadness when thinking about the Japanese disaster of March 2011. There are so many of my friends who came from Japan or have relatives there. I was very worried for them. I am so glad I found some ways to help. I am donating a piece of my artwork, the etching “Sweet and Snow” to the fundraiser project “ART for Japan”, organized by three members of The Art Students League, John Baber, Amy DiGi, and Yuka Imata. The fundraiser will be at Studio 57 Fine Arts on April 7th from 6-8. All artwork will be under $200 and all proceeds will go to UNICEF’s Japan Relief Efforts.
Artists may not have alot of money to give, but they can give their time and art. If you are an artist, please consider donating a work, and if you are not, then consider coming to the event and giving your support while owning a great piece of art!
When: Thursday, April 7 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Where: Studio 57 Fine Arts, 211 West 57th Street (between Seventh Ave. and Broadway)
