Gloucester fish. Large scale watercolor.

When I arrived to my art residency to Rocky Neck of Gloucester, MA, where the oldest in America artist community is located, I though that my main concentration will be on fog. I have heard of wonderful foggy days there and was hoping that I will see it often. Unfortunately my first 2 days were sunny and the rest – non-stop rainy. But during the study of the history of Gloucester I came up with another idea, that I think reflects the quintessence of this city, positioned on the Atlantic ocean, it has become one of the most important cities in fishing industry.
I have photographed some locally caught fish and am now starting my large painting (90″H x 104″ W), after completing a study of 22″ x 30″.
Please follow my painting in progress. Keep posted.
