I like fireworks and I like music, how could it get possibly better then both things together? Boston Pops is the orchestra’s annual free outdoor Fourth of July concert, this year was its 39th year.

We came to Boston early, as we wanted to get our wrist-bends for the music section. We spent all day walking around the city and ended up at the Cambridge side. Many people were waiting there already. firework platform was set up on the river and many boats were waiting for the show as well. Screens and speakers were installed around so we could see the live orchestral show. Just about 1 hour before the show we have heard an announcement that due to the approaching storm the show will be post-ponned for about 25-30 min, and it is recommended to go and hide until then. That was a disappointment, but we had no choice. Our smart phones were showing a scary image of a terrible disaster and the red colors in the center of it were very convincing. So we went away to find a shelter. After 30 min of waiting it became clear to everybody that storm took a different turn and passing Boston. Not even a small drop. Everyone went back. And the show has started just in time!

I have to tell you that this was the most amazing fireworks show I saw! In about 5 minutes from its beginning the storm has arrived as well. It was a warm and strong downpour. Now one person has left! How could we leave such a fabulous event? Crowd is wet and happy… What an experience!

  1. I am glad you had a good time and that the storms held off for most of the display. I love reading your blog!
