While being a printmaker, when I entered this studio I thought I came to a fairyland. The fairyland it appeared had a name: Gary Lichtenstein Editions at MANA. This was a definitely my dream of a printmaking studio! It was very well equipped, it had all necessary for silk-screen printing supplies and surprisingly for an art studio it was clean.
I later met the magician Gary himself, he was, as expected for a magician, a wonderful man, very kind and welcoming, not to mention talented and creative. Besides doing printmaking he, I thought, was an excellent painter, few of his very large scale oil paintings were once displayed at the studio. During my art residency at Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation I had a chance to visit Gary’s studio a few times and every time I was leaving it inspired.
